Hypercar Of The Future Concept Was Inspired by Nardolillo Alessandro’s Ferrari Ethesian Concept

Inspired by well known Supercar manufacturers such as Ferrari, Pagani, Lamborghini and also the exclusive Redbull X1 race car which features in Gran Turismo 5, Abdul Wahid, an automotive designer, has sent us his own vision of what should a Hypercar in the future look like. Just like most boys, he had always been fascinated by exotic cars and jet planes and it was his fascination to Nardolillo Alessandro’s Ferrari Ethesian concept that had inspired him the most due to its unique distinctive design.

The idea was to design a next generation concept to feature in games such as Gran Turismo or to be featured in Hollywood Sci-fi movies.

Futuristic Scorpio Electric Vehicle Concept Could Be Your Future Eco-Friendly Personal Vehicle

Due to global warming, we need an alternative propulsion system that is more environmentally friendly. The objectives of Scorpio project as a battery powered electric vehicles are lightweight design, cost effective energy efficiency, and preserve the nature. One of the easy ways to attract potential buyers is the minimal energy cost, this project aims to reach 120km range for only 1 euro with one quarter of weight of a modern small car. The futuristic design is an additional feature to attract users.

Designing a car/vehicle is far easier than naming it, so after a few days of thinking how to call it, my coworker came to me seeing that I was designing it for some time, with a comment: “What is that scorpion shaped thing?”… so the name came naturally after that. Two front wheels and one larger rear wheel give to the vehicle an unusual look, which can’t pass next too you unseen, making a convertible style seating driver a center of attention on the street. Which we can’t disagree that is not that important part of owning a vehicle. Battery positioned right behind the driver’s seat together with low positioned electric engine (inside the rear wheel’s circle) bring Scorpio’s center of gravity on a perfect low height making it well balanced. A steel space-frame structure beneath a skin of conventional synthetic material are the principals that is Scorpio’s lightweight concept based on. This allows a high level of safety as well as affordable pricing.

The use of expensive composite materials is deliberately avoided to follow lightweight-design philosophy, in order to make electric mobility affordable to as many people as possible. Having no roof, it creates the feeling of spaciousness with all-around visibility. The seat, pedals, and a steering console/column can be adjusted to the size of the driver, to fit like a glove to different driver’s height.

Echoes of a Nearby Future Part 3: Closed Cockpit McLaren-Honda Concept 2019

This is the third part of “Echoes of A Nearby Future” project. Designed by Andries van Overbeeke, we have featured the first and second project here: Martini F1 concept car and Red Bull F1 concept car.

This is part 3 of ‘Echoes of a Nearby Future’, where I explore the design, proportions and regulations of Formula 1 in the near distant future.

I made this McLaren-Honda concept to visualize what F1 cars could look like with a closed cockpit. Ever since that week in 2009, with the accidents of Massa and Surtees, I’ve been wanting to visualize that canopies could look good. Of course the driving force behind this isn’t looks but it’s safety. Combined with the current state of F1 it’s important to have something tangible to have a fruitful discussion about the future of F1.

The sidepods are reminiscent of the McLaren that Jenson Button drove to that legendary win in the 2011 Canadian rain. The message of my images on the track is clear: we need to reverse the trend that F1 no longer races in the rain. Apart from the canopy, the car features wider rear tyres with an increased diameter and the car’s width is increased. The front wing is smaller and less complex to reduce the sensitivity to turbulent air. The canopy encloses the same crash structure that’s currently seen on F1 cars, and the traditional roll bar is no longer needed.

BMW iR Concept Motorcycle for Future MotoGP racing

BMW iR concept motorcycle is a design study for future MotoGP racing. It’s an electric motorbike that focuses on mid-race transformation for enhanced performance. During a straightaway stretch of the race course, this bike features a long low profile, but as it approaches a turn, the fork angle lessens and the swing arm/shaft shortens to decrease the rake and raise its ground clearance to create an optimal cornering experience.

The body features clean and simple design with minimal clutter, it focuses on surfacing at a maximum. Since BMW iR has been designed as an electric motorcycle, there’s no need for fuel tank. Replacing the traditional fuel tank, there’s a beautiful subframe designed to support the rider. The seat features unique shape with integrated knee pads, designed as one sturdy structure. Considering the amount of negative space throughout the concept, the designer was able to design an extremely lightweight feel motorcycle without looking flimsy. Equipped with a lightweight plastic housing, the awesome asymmetrical eyes of the bike are surrounded by translucent lenses, creating a unique glow the head light is turned on.

HDT-01 Concept Future PC Uses Projector Technology

The next step in the digital personal computer design. How do they look ? The HTD-01 Concept is the first PC, which uses a mini LED projector. The design team combines design and the requirement for the future. Well, it kinds of remind us about Microsoft’s promise of holographic computer in 2015 with HOLO 2.0.

Do you still remember our old, large, and big rear projection TV? Well, this project task was to come up with a new concept with such a screen. It might look like an outdated rear projection technology, but it will be equipped with state-of-the-art techniques of transparency and holography. The first approach was to put together thin glass and projector technology, but the position of the screen to the viewer was not easy to implement and might become a problem. The engineers had to calculate a perfect viewing angle so that viewers don’t have to adjust the screen. The second approach is the design phase where the design team tried to miniaturize the device, creating a concept that is just one step away to holography computer. The short-throw projection would continue to evolve until there’s no static projection surface anymore where sometime in the future, these pictures will be displayed as holographic floating in the air, this is the main objective of the project.

Echoes of a Nearby Future Part Deux : Futuristic Formula 1 Concept Car

we have featured Echoes of a Nearby Future before, this time, Andries van Overbeeke wants to introduce you to the second part, he even made a cool storyline for this project. You can read his explanations below.

As an artist and designer it is my task to visualize what is yet to be seen. To explore ideas that linger in the community and listen to the friction people experience with the status quo, and the desires they feel for the direction of development. In ‘Echoes of a Nearby Future’ I distill something tangible out of the discussions about the future of Formula 1.

This time we take on the car of Red Bull, a brand that lends itself perfectly for an extreme, badass concept. A matte black jet fighter inspired beast, branded with large patches of contrasting sponsoring. I think my Williams concept was more realistic, however one of the functions of art is the exploration of boundaries of what is possible. If specific traits or details on this Red Bull concept go too far and are unrealistic, we have established something very important: we now know what is impossible. Be careful though. Classifying something as ‘impossible’ should require quite some thought and imagination. History shows that there have even been occasions where people were proven wrong…

Echoes of a Nearby Future : Formula 1 Concept Car by Andries van Overbeeke

We just received a conceptual Formula 1 car from Andries van Overbeeke. It’s a realistic vision of F1 concept car that can be implemented in 2017, following new rules revolution talks. You can read his explanations below.

I made a realistic future Formula 1 concept that could be implemented in 2017, when there is a big rule change. The intention of these rules is to make the cars look more aggressive and attractive. A lot of prominent Formula 1 guys have been talking about wider cars and bigger rear wheels, however there have been no realistic concepts that explore the aesthetics of these rule changes. I decided to make some nice crisp 4K images.

Looks are very important in Formula 1, but the quality of racing often is determined by the laws of physics. The problem here is that F1 cars are very dependent on aerodynamics for their speed: a leading car disturbs the airflow for the car following close behind, causing ‘dirty air’, and makes it difficult to have close racing. Thinking about the implications of your design on physics and the racing is very important.

The intention here is to make the cars less sensitive to the negative effects of dirty air, and shift more towards mechanical grip.

Audi A 2.0 is a concept car that targets young generation from 18 to 30 years old. It’s the result of 15 months Master in Transportation and Automotive Design in Politecnico of Milan sponsored by Volkswagen and Audi. The main idea was to design an aesthetically pleasing and dynamic car for young adults, the designers started by analyzing the iconic brand characteristics as well as the target’s needs. The robotic technology also plays important part here as the team took inspiration from that, they wanted to play with the shape contrasts of Audi where the higher part is clean and smooth and the lower one is sharp cornered and refined. The interior of this electric car is focus more on smart technology and connectivity, it can accommodate up to 4 passengers even though the dimension of the car is actually reduced.

Loupe Concept Remote Control : Smart Future Technology for Older Generations

Loupe is a new generation concept remote control of a smart TV. The design focuses on creating a “Telefriend”, opposite to the simple-minded mechanical “Telecommande” of today. This futuristic remote is the user’s highly personalized friend, following the trend of individualized “smart” technologies and devices.

The main idea is a “magnifying glass”, a remote that would reveal all the intricate and complex features to the user. These industrial designers focus more on the older generation people, those that might need more assistance understanding the swiftly advancing TV technology. The remote itself would also have actual magnifying features to facilitate helping this demographic and translating almost an analog, understandable method into newer technology.
