Futuristic Rally Explorer Concept Vehicle for Future Race Car in The Year of 2116

Rally Explorer is a conceptual futuristic vehicle for the year of 2116. It’s designed as a submission for “A Roadtrip in 2116” contest held by Allegorithmic. The idea here is to design a rally racing vehicle for a race that takes place on another planet where the racing track would stretch across the planet from west hemisphere to east hemisphere. Yes, that’s unimaginably long track, also there’s no stopping point in between, so no support or help is available, all racers would be totally on their own.

The track would include climb over snow mountains, pass through rainforests and desert, and other different harsh environments. These racers might also face unknown dangers while racing, that’s why the vehicle shouldn’t be just a means of transportation, it should also become a shelter during disasters or accidents.

Future of Racing Electric Concept: Pikes Peak Racer

Companies that aim to reduce petroleum consumption and harmful gases released to our atmosphere are introducing completely electric and hybrid vehicles one after another. The concept work of the Turkish designer Olcay Tuncay Karabulut is still only an idea, but the future of the car racing symbolizes the completely electric vision of the car. Pikes Peak Racer is a fully electric motor driven concept with two electric motors for its operation. One for each axle, with a total output of more than 440kW (600hp).

This concept racing vehicle, which can reach an average speed of 350 km/h, maintains its energy with Lithium-Ion batteries. For the car body, the lightweight design is not just carbon usage; Aluminum, different steels and carbon fiber materials. Even though the car gets its name from the international climbing race in Pikes Peak, it already makes us think that the series like World Endurance Championship (WEC) will compete completely with electricity technology in the near future.

Futuristic Peugeot L500 R HYbrid Concept Car Could Be The Future of Motor Sport

One hundred years ago, Dario Resta won the mythical Indianapolis 500 race with Peugeot L45, with average speed of 135 km/h. Now, Peugeot introduces Peugeot L500 R Hybrid concept car as futuristic interpretation of the Indy spirit to pay tribute to the great “Charlatans” team that brought Peugeot US three victories on the Indy 500 speedway from the year of 1913 to 1919.

Peugeot L500 R Hybrid aims to bring intense driving sensations, the low body hugs the asphalt to deliver full potential right from pullaway. The body features wide track and low profile (with only 1-meter high) design, the weigh is only 1,000kg, it needs just 2.5 seconds to reach 100km/h from standstill and less than 20 seconds to cover 1,000 meters. This impressive performance can be achieved thanks to Peugeot Sport teams. They have developed 500-bhp plug-in hybrid petrol powertrain with two electric motors (one front and one rear), also a 270 hp petrol engine, giving peak torque of 730Nm.

Futuristic Scorpio Electric Vehicle Concept Could Be Your Future Eco-Friendly Personal Vehicle

Due to global warming, we need an alternative propulsion system that is more environmentally friendly. The objectives of Scorpio project as a battery powered electric vehicles are lightweight design, cost effective energy efficiency, and preserve the nature. One of the easy ways to attract potential buyers is the minimal energy cost, this project aims to reach 120km range for only 1 euro with one quarter of weight of a modern small car. The futuristic design is an additional feature to attract users.

Designing a car/vehicle is far easier than naming it, so after a few days of thinking how to call it, my coworker came to me seeing that I was designing it for some time, with a comment: “What is that scorpion shaped thing?”… so the name came naturally after that. Two front wheels and one larger rear wheel give to the vehicle an unusual look, which can’t pass next too you unseen, making a convertible style seating driver a center of attention on the street. Which we can’t disagree that is not that important part of owning a vehicle. Battery positioned right behind the driver’s seat together with low positioned electric engine (inside the rear wheel’s circle) bring Scorpio’s center of gravity on a perfect low height making it well balanced. A steel space-frame structure beneath a skin of conventional synthetic material are the principals that is Scorpio’s lightweight concept based on. This allows a high level of safety as well as affordable pricing.

The use of expensive composite materials is deliberately avoided to follow lightweight-design philosophy, in order to make electric mobility affordable to as many people as possible. Having no roof, it creates the feeling of spaciousness with all-around visibility. The seat, pedals, and a steering console/column can be adjusted to the size of the driver, to fit like a glove to different driver’s height.

Echoes of a Nearby Future Part 3: Closed Cockpit McLaren-Honda Concept 2019

This is the third part of “Echoes of A Nearby Future” project. Designed by Andries van Overbeeke, we have featured the first and second project here: Martini F1 concept car and Red Bull F1 concept car.

This is part 3 of ‘Echoes of a Nearby Future’, where I explore the design, proportions and regulations of Formula 1 in the near distant future.

I made this McLaren-Honda concept to visualize what F1 cars could look like with a closed cockpit. Ever since that week in 2009, with the accidents of Massa and Surtees, I’ve been wanting to visualize that canopies could look good. Of course the driving force behind this isn’t looks but it’s safety. Combined with the current state of F1 it’s important to have something tangible to have a fruitful discussion about the future of F1.

The sidepods are reminiscent of the McLaren that Jenson Button drove to that legendary win in the 2011 Canadian rain. The message of my images on the track is clear: we need to reverse the trend that F1 no longer races in the rain. Apart from the canopy, the car features wider rear tyres with an increased diameter and the car’s width is increased. The front wing is smaller and less complex to reduce the sensitivity to turbulent air. The canopy encloses the same crash structure that’s currently seen on F1 cars, and the traditional roll bar is no longer needed.
