With the challenges of global warming and rising fuel crisis, we need an alternative to fossil fuel-powered vehicles. Most Indians are still reluctant to change from fuel powered vehicles to electric one and this action has impacted the electric vehicle market. Future Personal Transportation System project has been designed to answer that challenge which hopefully can help the country in transition to more eco-friendly form of transportation.

“Personal Mover” : Personal Transportation for Traveling in Short Distances

Now you can have your own “Personal Mover” for traveling in short distances to and from destinations away from stations and bus stops. It is designed to meet the standard to provide sufficient door to door service. Personal Mover is a system of small vehicles having independent control and run on fixed guide ways. Basically this system is specifically designed to as a pedestrian enhancement device. There is an adjustable handle rail which can fit as per individual’s shape and sizes. Overall, this private motor offers maximum flexibility, expense, travel time and comfort to everyone.

“Freewill Urban” : A Collapsible, Personal Commuting Vehicle Used to Assists Daily Short Distance Travel

Check out this innovative transportation concept known as Freewill Urban – Intercity Commuting vehicle designed by Jinn Wong. This vehicle is a personal commuting assistant which helps in daily travel for the journey between the train station and the user’s destination. This vehicle consists of three-wheels with a long handle designed to pull the vehicle in an indoor environment. Freewill Urban is powered by two individual motors in the hub area of the two front wheels. Each motor controls each wheel separately. The vehicle uses oval shaped form and curves in order to offer styling approach. So, you can surely try out this electronic scooter for short distances.

USF : Ultra Small Footprint Vehicle by Alex Langensiepen

USF (Ultra Small Footprint) Vehicle was a sponsored project for GenZe by Mahindra, the objective was to design a vehicle for the next generation (Generation Z) for one of largest cities of the future.

USF has been designed around the city of Tokyo for the year 2025, with the aim at bringing excitement back into the commuter day to day travels. The city of Tokyo, while it has an extremely efficient transportation system that arrives promptly, all of the commuter trains are grossly over capacity, some as close as 200%, which leads to a dismal commute to work.

nThree Electric Vehicle Offers The Comfort of A Car with The Cost of An E-Bike

nThree electric vehicle aims to provide you with affordable, personal vehicle that features the comfort of a car yet with the cost of an e-bike. It sounds pretty ambitious and interesting, doesn’t it? Let’s read what these designers have to say about the project.

Following the recent electric revolution of lightweight vehicles around the world, the nThree is a new design, following the very successful nCycle e-bike concept. With the irreversible process of global economies turning towards renewable energy, the way we see and use the city has already changed and is set to do so dramatically in the next few years.

With our increased awareness and sensitivity towards energy consumption, courtesy among others of the most recent economic crisis, in the last 4-5 years, personal transportation has begun a slow but steady drift away from the model we have come to know in the past century. The 10s and hundreds of new e-bikes and electric cars like the Renault Twizy or Toyota i-Road have shown the way to a more personal and conscious approach. Our new concept builds on the characteristics and refines the strengths of these vehicles to bring electric power even closer to the mass market.

Small electric cars, tricycles and quadricycles all suffer from the same inherent drawback; they are meant to be cheap and affordable but they end up being expensive like real cars because they are BUILT like real cars. The mission on the nThree was to address these conceptual and design shortcomings and design an affordable, single-seat electric vehicle that would offer all (or most) of the comforts of an electric car at the cost of an e-bike.

To achieve the objectives, the nThree electric vehicle was built with a simplistic approach reminiscent on the nCycle. In first place, the vehicle was reduced to the most essential stable geometry of three wheels to reduce cost. Even though the latest small electrics are a great way to move around the urban areas, there is something about these offerings that does not look great at all: Price. Starting from about 7000 Euros and above these 1-2 seaters cost almost as much as a cheap standard car and more than many used ones in good condition.

MUV-e Scooter : Low Energy, Cost Efficient Green Vehicle for The City

This is the age where world’s city centers are experiencing a rapid population growth that also effects the growth in the number of motorized vehicles on the road. The number of vehicles is the main cause of traffic jam and air pollution, so, in order to answer the challenge to create green and compact vehicle, Amir Zaid has come up with MUV-e scooter. It’s a foldable scooter, an alternative transportation solution from an Israeli company. MUV-e is a low energy, cost efficient vehicle, an ideal vehicle to give citizen green mobility in the city.

Amir Zaid established MUV-e company at the beginning of 2012, he’s a skilled automotive designer which has done extensive researches in car design and development industry.

The reason why he chose to design this vehicle was because Rudolf is a fan of transportation design, but not in the area of engine powers, performances and cutting edge stylish design, but rather in its mobility related to our future needs. This project has been designed for congested urban areas such as Hong Kong, China, New York and so on.

After extensive researches, this Urban Vehicle project tries to answer many challenges which are given by our future society. It has to be sustainable, uses non-conventional energy source, lightweight, universal (safe for children, elderly people, physically impaired people, etc.), iconic, interactive, save parking space, adjustable and affordable.

Peregrinate Is A Chauffeur Driven Vehicle That Takes The Unique Hotel Experience On The Road

The luxurious hotel experience is for some of us a once in a life time opportunity, but for the one’s who deal with it everyday of their lives, this could become sort of boring at some point. That’s why, Gabriel Tam, designed an incredible alternative to luxurious escapades, The Peregrinate. This amazing chauffeur driven vehicle enhances and extends the unique hotel experience beyond the realm of traditional architectural structure, taking the intimate and personal experience on the road.

Peregrinate has been tailored for the Fontana Park Hotel, a hotel in the city of Lisbon. The vehicle’s main theme is strong black and white. Peregrinate is about creating a classic modernist design that transgress different landscape and city environment. The core focus of the vehicle is to maximize the overall comfort and experience for the passengers.

Peregrinate marks a departure from the traditional monotonous luxury saloon design. Individuality is the most important differentiator for boutique hotel, they usually have a theme or character, which is relevant to the region that the hotel resides. An intimate atmosphere shouldn’t have a sense of familiarity, and this should be no different for the guest transportation. The vehicle designed by Gabriel has some amazing features that cannot be compared to other vehicles of its type. First of all is the superhydrophobicity Lexan polycarbonate body with its gradient transitional tint DLO, is creating a friendly interior ambiance with added privacy. The rear LED brake lamps are integrated within the Polyurethane gel bumper. This provides a clean wrap around look during daytime. The extra long rear cabin created by extended wheelbase, thus retaining a smaller physical footprint on the tarmac than conventional full size luxury vehicles like the Mercedes S-Class.

Mercedes Arrow Is A Lightweight Two-Seater Vehicle Gives You The Feeling Of Sliding With A Bobsleigh

Mercedes Arrow has been designed to draw a comparison with other recreational vehicles such as motorcycles, jetskis or personalized aircraft. This stunning vehicle gives its passengers the ride of their life. The bobsleigh shaped body, the lightweight materials and the sporty look enable it to shoot through heavy traffic like an arrow from a bow. This experience can only be enjoyed by two passengers, their seats are placed one in front of another. One of the stunning features this futuristic car has, is that it combines TANDEM with MAGLEV technology to take sharp corners. This innovative feature allows the body of the car to tilt left and right when the car is taking corners, thus minimizing the wheels tilt angle. There is an almost non-existing chance for the vehicle to slide out of control. Due to the slim body, the wheels cover the same space of tarmac, just as a contemporary car, eliminating the risk of the car flipping over. The designer, Felipe Palermo, found inspiration in the old Silver Arrows, the SLR McLaren and the 1954 Gull-Wing.

Nissan Nuvu City Car Concept with Futuristic Dashboard

Nissan Nuvu is a concept designed to offer next generation car from Nissan with rear-mounted electric motor and lithium ion battery pack. The design of this concept car is quite unusual and small. For city use, the Nuvu’s performance is more than adequate. Across the all-glass roof are a dozen of small solar panels. Basically, natural, organic and recycled materials are used to make its cabin. The steering of the car is very direct for quickness and maneuverability in the city. No one will have any problem in crowded roads and limited parking slots with this tomorrow’s city car.
