Wandering Ark Hydrogen-Powered Trimaran – Future Floating City to Live In The Sea

There’s high possibility that our sea level will rise dramatically in the future. There would be many lands shrink, including the frequency of marine disaster will also increase. Wandering Ark Hydrogen Powered Trimaran has been designed to help us survive, a floating city you might say. This project aims to solve the problem when sea level rise and leaves us no choice but to live in the sea, this catamaran is envisioned to be a mobile city.

The city would be self-sufficient, using only clean energy and avoiding marine disasters. Nowadays, single energy source is not reliable to provide a sustainable supply for ships. This project would be a chance to study future ship energy harvesting technology, it is a great possibility to blend sustainable with ship technology through integrated design.

Designed by Shenghan Lu, Wandering Ark Hydrogen-Powered Trimaran is a large enough to be considered as a small floating city. It is extremely strong and stable to tackle different sea conditions, integrating multiple energy collection methods from solar energy, wind energy, wave energy, and seawater hydrogen production system. This trimaran turns into a habitable place where people can live in harmony with the marine environment. This trimaran is designed with terraces, they are symbol of the symbiosis between man and nature, terraces express the concept of respecting nature.

It is possible to survive on the ocean and make full use of the resources. Seawater can be easily obtained through hydrogen production system, when that’s not enough, Wandering Ark can still utilize solar, wind, and ocean to generate power.
